GIFT OF A CLEAN HOME FOR CANCER PATIENTS

Philadelphia, PA – October 29, 2025 – The Philadelphia Building Managers and Operators Association (PBMOA) invites the community to its annual fundraiser supporting Cleaning for a Reason, the nonprofit providing free house cleaning to cancer patients.
The event, themed “Sugar and Spice and Everything Nice – Helping Somebody With Cancer,” will take place on Wednesday, November 5th, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Commerce Square (The BEX Space), 2001 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA 19103. This year marks PBMOA’s ninth year supporting Cleaning for a Reason.
Special guest Tracy Davidson, 14-time Emmy Award-winning anchor and NBC10 investigative reporter, will share her story as a breast cancer survivor.
“I’m not going to sugarcoat it and say, ‘Oh, I was fine the whole time,’” said Davidson. “I definitely had some meltdowns. But overall, I felt a sense of gratitude that I caught it early, that I listened to my body. I’m not one who talks a lot about myself because I don’t think that’s my job. My job as a journalist is to give you information that’s out there, but I am on this earth to help someone so I share my story in hopes that other people will listen to their bodies.”
| Kathleen Albertson, PBMOA President and longtime Cleaning for a Reason supporter, will highlight the impact of the program, sharing how her sister, Patricia Regan, received Cleaning for a Reason services during her battle with terminal breast cancer. Albertson and a PBS volunteer team helped restore Patricia’s home, creating a safe, nurturing environment that supported both her recovery and emotional well-being. | Kathleen Albertson |
“At PBMOA, we’re dedicated to creating safe, well-maintained communities, and supporting Cleaning for a Reason aligns perfectly with that mission,” shared Albertson. “For someone who is immune compromised and battling cancer, a clean home is more than just tidy—it’s a place of comfort, dignity, and peace of mind when you need it most.”
The evening will feature a silent auction, including a signed copy of Albertson’s memoir, Beautifully Broken, which chronicles her journey from trauma to a life devoted to helping others. Attendees will also enjoy raffles and a check presentation from Helen’s Angels to Cleaning for a Reason.
