NATIONAL CLEANING FOR A REASON WEEK, APRIL 18-24
Durham, NC – April 22, 2020 – Carpe Diem Cleaning has been donating cleaning services to local cancer patients for nine years through their partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Since 2011, Carpe Diem Cleaning has supported a total of 41 cancer patients with a donated value $25,696 in cleanings. Owner Wendy Clark wants to bring heightened awareness of the cause to the area during Cleaning for a Reason Week, April 18-24. The goal is to help more households battling any type of cancer to receive the gift of a clean home.
“Carpe Diem Cleaning exists to impact our local community,” said Clark. “I have a passion to support people, especially those in need. Our donation of cleaning allows cancer patients and their families to focus on recovery and anything else that is important to them at this time. I’m fierce in the belief that each day matters, and time and energy are our most valuable resources.”
Clark emphasized, “During this COVID-19 crisis, we are taking extra measures to keep our clients, especially our cancer patients, and our teams safe. Our company is following the recommended CDC precautionary measures:
• Checking the health and temperatures of our staff daily
• Wearing face masks and washing hands before entering and exiting a home
• Changing gloves between tasks while in a home
• Using an EPA-approved, commercial-grade, eco-friendly disinfectant on all touchpoints and countertops unless a client refuses
• Practicing social distancing when in a client’s home”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Carpe Diem Cleaning supports two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Durham, Raleigh, Hillsborough, Chapel Hill, and Apex.
