Cancer Survivor Pays It Forward Through Free House Cleaning

Gilbert, AZ – March 2, 2023 – Two Maids of Gilbert and Two Maids of Mesa, both owned by Ryan and Lorena Myers, are partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit that provides free house cleaning to cancer patients. Lorena Myer is a cancer survivor herself and together, she and her husband are committed to giving back and helping other patients in need.
“In 2017, just before we were preparing to convert our small cleaning business into a franchise with Two Maids, Lorena was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer,” said Ryan Myers. “Despite undergoing chemotherapy, Lorena’s determination to keep moving forward gave her the strength to fight her cancer, while also helping our customers maintain a sparkling clean home.”
“As a breast cancer survivor, I am so grateful to our loyal customers who supported me throughout my treatments, while also helping our business grow,” said Lorena Myers. “As cancer has impacted our lives personally, we were drawn to the Two Maids franchise due to their corporate partnership with non-profit Cleaning for a Reason. This partnership allows us to offer free house cleaning services to individuals undergoing treatments and helps us give back to the community in a meaningful way.”
Since 2018, the Gilbert location has supported 71 cancer patients, providing a total of $27,160 in donated cleanings. In 2022, Two Maids of Gilbert served 26 patients and ranked as the third highest partner in terms of patient support among all partners of Cleaning for a Reason. The Mesa location recently joined the nonprofit in 2023.
Two Maids of Gilbert is committed to cleaning the homes of three cancer patients per month for two consecutive months in partnership with Cleaning for a Reason. Similarly, Two Maids of Mesa has committed to serving two cancer patients’ homes per month for two consecutive months. The Gilbert location provides its services to Gilbert, Chandler, Queen Creek, Sun Lakes, and San Tan Valley, while the Mesa location serves Mesa, Apache Junction, and Gold Canyon. Both locations are dedicated to providing free house cleaning services to cancer patients in their respective communities.
