The Modern Maid Donates Non-Toxic Home Cleaning to Cancer Patients

LOCAL COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING COVID-19
Delaware, OH – April 20, 2021 – The Modern Maid, LLC has partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit providing free house cleaning for cancer patients. Owner Amanda Owens understands the physical and emotional impact of a cancer diagnosis on an individual and the family and the need to be supported.
“I have been personally touched by cancer,” said Owens. “Cancer took my father’s life in 2005; my mother’s life in 2011. My mother in-law is a breast cancer survivor. Our company has always been the first to give a family free or discounted service if we knew they were battling cancer. We needed to help more people though—just helping a few here and there wasn’t enough! We wanted to help on a bigger scale and Cleaning for a Reason allows more families to reach out to us for help.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, The Modern Maid supports two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Delaware County.
Owens emphasized, “During this coronavirus pandemic, we are following CDC and local health department guidelines to keep our staff and clients safe, especially the cancer patients we serve. We adapted our cleaning standards after completing the certification for GBAC’s (Global Biorisk Advisory Council) Cleaning & Disinfection Principles with emphasis on SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19. We are an eco-friendly, non-toxic cleaning company that now also offers a sanitizing service for high touch areas, included with every house cleaning or as a stand-alone service. We also wear masks and socially distance when cleaning in a home.”

The Modern Maid is a local, woman owned and operated residential and commercial cleaning business. Owner Amanda Owens started The Modern Maid in 2003 out of the trunk of her car. Since 2010, The Modern Maid has resided in their current office space at 165 E Winter Street in historic Delaware, Ohio.
