LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Richmond, VA – November 4, 2025 – Two Maids of Richmond is proud to announce its continuing partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit organization that provides free home cleanings to cancer patients across the United States and Canada. Through this partnership, Two Maids of Richmond joins cleaning companies nationwide in helping cancer patients focus on their health and families while the company takes care of their homes. Partnered with the nonprofit since 2016, Two Maids of Richmond has supported 50 cancer patients with donated cleanings valued at $15,929.
“Our team at Two Maids of Richmond believes that caring for our community goes beyond cleaning homes—it’s about supporting people during life’s most difficult moments,” said Wendy Goins, owner of Two Maids of Richmond. “Partnering with Cleaning for a Reason allows us to use our skills and compassion to bring comfort and relief to families affected by cancer.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Two Maids of Richmond supports two cancer patients’ homes a month for two consecutive months free of charge. Service areas include Richmond, Tuckahoe, Mechanicsville, Highland Springs, Midlothian, Elmont, Studley, Short Pump, Bon Air, Bellwood, Glen Allen, Wyndham, Goochland, Ashland, Hanover, Powhatan, and Chesterfield.
“Cleaning for a Reason means a great deal to me,” said Joshua Burkey, Service Manager at Two Maids of Richmond. “Growing up, I was extremely close with my grandmother, who passed away from leukemia in 2001. I saw firsthand the toll that cancer takes on a family and how deeply it affects everyone involved. I’m proud to work for a company like Two Maids of Richmond that helps ease some of that tension by doing something as simple—and as powerful—as cleaning a home. A clean home can make all the difference.”
Any individual battling cancer—regardless of age, gender, or type of cancer—may apply for free house cleaning at cleaningforareason.org.
