Portland Housecleaning Company Is Donating Services To Help Cancer Patients
August 7, 2023 – Cleaners Joy, a Portland-based residential cleaning company, has recently partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit providing free housecleaning for individuals undergoing cancer treatment.
Cleaners Joy will clean the homes of two cancer patients for two months. This service is available to patients living in Portland and the surrounding area.
Cleaning for a Reason partners with more than 1,200 residential cleaners throughout the U.S. and Canada to offer free services for any household battling cancer, to help allow patients to focus on their health and spending time with their families. Since 2006, the nonprofit and its partners have donated more than $17 million in services and helped over 50,000 cancer patients.
“Cleaning for a Reason’s mission aligns perfectly with our company’s core value of giving back to the community by helping those in need,” said Cleaners Joy CEO and owner Hussein Adan. “Their program recognizes the profound physical and emotional toll that cancer takes on individuals and their families. Cancer patients often struggle to keep up with household chores and cleaning during treatment, and we firmly believe that no one should have to face these difficulties alone.
“Our team of skilled and compassionate cleaning professionals is dedicated to providing cancer patients with a clean and comfortable living environment, enabling them to focus on their health and recovery without the added burden of household tasks.”
Adan decided to collaborate with Cleaning for a Reason as a way to give back to the community and support those facing difficult times.
“Together with Cleaning for a Reason, we can make a significant impact on the lives of cancer patients in our community,” said Adan. “It brings us great joy to contribute to such a noble cause and be part of a network of businesses that share the same compassion and commitment to help others. As we embark on this partnership, we look forward to providing our cleaning services with care, empathy, and dedication to create a positive and meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.”
Cleaners Joy, a family-owned residential and commercial cleaning business founded in January 2022, has served over 1,000 homes and businesses in southern Maine. Adan told Mainebiz he has 15 cleaners on his team as well as independent contractors. Their services cater to a diverse clientele, including busy moms, business owners, the elderly, Airbnbs and vacation rentals.
