LOCAL COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING COVID-19
Lawrenceville & Alpharetta, GA – May 8, 2020 – Merry Maids of Lawrenceville and Merry Maids of Alpharetta have been donating cleaning services to cancer patients for the past four years through their partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit serving cancer patients. Since 2016, these two franchise locations have helped a total of 38 cancer patients with more than 500 donated cleanings valued at $21,567. Owners Deanne and Mike Williams are committed to making a difference for local cancer patients in need.
“The Cleaning for a Reason principles of being inspired, committed, and involved so clearly matched our company’s goals that it was just meant to be,” said Deanne Williams. “Our staff members are always eager to be part of the team helping cancer patients. We help them as they navigate through treatments by lending caring, helping hands to assist in the home cleaning chores and simple tasks. We are committed to supporting cancer patients until there is a cure for this horrible disease.”
Mike Williams emphasized, “During this COVID-19 crisis, we are cleaning for health, which means using a disinfectant certified by the EPA to eliminate coronavirus pathogens. Additional measures include disinfecting our Merry Maids cleaning kit and equipment before entering a home; wearing gloves, masks, eye protection, and shoe covers in a home; and providing increased attention to high-touch surfaces in a home.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Merry Maids of Lawrenceville and Merry Maids of Alpharetta respectively each clean four cancer patients’ homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This will be an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Gwinnett and Fulton Counties.
