Maids on a Mission Celebrates 15 Months of Helping Cancer Patients

LOCAL COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING COVID-19
San Antonio, TX – October 6, 2020 – Maids on a Mission, Inc., has been donating cleaning services to local cancer patients for 15 months through their partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Owners Tammy and Morris McRae understand the importance of a clean environment when undergoing cancer treatment and are committed to making a difference for cancer patients and their families.
“Being a partner with Cleaning for a Reason touches our hearts on a personal level,” said Tammy McRae. “Morris and I both have had family members battle cancer, so we understand that a clean home for someone in cancer treatment is a much needed and valued service. The appreciation expressed by the cancer patients is absolutely priceless. We are grateful to give back to our community in this way. Supporting cancer patients remains one of the premier missions of Maids on a Mission.”
Since August 2019, Maids on a Mission has supported 14 cancer patients with a total donated value of $4,200 in cleanings. Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Maids on a Mission assists cancer patients by cleaning three homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in San Antonio.
Morris McRae emphasized, “Now more than ever during this COVID-19 pandemic, we all understand that a clean home is a healthy home, especially for the cancer patients we serve. Maids on a Mission follows CDC guidelines to slow the spread of infection by using an EPA-approved disinfectant, wearing masks and gloves, and social distancing when in a home.”

Yes, we serve Las Vegas, but availability will depend on whether there’s an opening at the time of application. Our cleaning partners typically take up to two patients at a time. Cancer patients can apply at cleaningforareason.org, Patients tab. If partners are at capacity, it’s still good to have an application on file for when an opening becomes available.
