Lexington, KY – August 6, 2026 – I used to work as a nurse, and I love helping people. When I started Top Mops Cleaning Service in 2013, I immediately joined Cleaning for a Reason, a national network of cleaning companies that provide free home cleanings for patients battling cancer.
Cleaning for someone who is seriously ill is a profound act of love. Even though it’s our company that donates the service, our cleaning technicians never treat it like just another day’s work. It’s deeply personal—and sometimes, they leave the home in tears.
With each of these donations, I’m reminded that we all face difficult challenges. Cancer, especially, drains energy and compromises immunity—two things our clients need most. During treatment, they need a clean home to help prevent infection—and they need our energy and care to make it happen.
I often ask myself: Am I willing to make sacrifices to help someone facing hardship and uncertainty? Through these free cleanings, we try to shine a small ray of hope into their lives.
