Hudson Cleaning Services Continues Supporting Cancer Patients

LOCAL COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING COVID-19
Locust, NC – October 19, 2020 – Hudson Cleaning Services, LLC has been donating home cleaning services to local cancer patients for the past 15 months through its partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Owner Jennifer Hudson, a resident of Locust, chooses to make a difference for cancer patients and their families.
“We partnered with Cleaning for a Reason because helping the community that we live in is one of our top priorities,” said Hudson. “I started this cleaning company because I found something that I enjoyed doing daily. With the love and support of my family and friends, I chose to turn my love for cleaning into a business. In my spare time, I work as a part-time Emergency Medical Technician. A few times, I have cleaned a cancer patient’s home, only to see the patient again when I reenter the home as a medical technician. The patient immediately felt a sense of ease when recognizing me. I love that I can truly support cancer households in these different ways.”
Since July 2019, Hudson Cleaning Services has supported 11 cancer patients and their families with a total donated value of $1,810 in cleanings.
Hudson emphasized, “Now more than ever during this COVID-19 pandemic, Hudson Cleaning Services has been working hard to create a healthier environment for our clients, and especially the cancer patients we serve. As an essential cleaning business and a first responder, I understand more than most the need to clean for health reasons. To slow the spread of infection, we are using an EPA-approved disinfectant, paying extra attention to high touch areas, wearing masks and gloves, and practicing social distancing when cleaning in a client’s home. As a company, we have also donated disinfectant and have made masks to hand out to the community.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Hudson Cleaning Services provides services for two cancer patients’ homes each month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Stanly County and parts of Cabarrus County.
