How Jeannie Cleaning is redefining what it means to serve

Portage, MI – April 6, 2026 – In the heart of Portage, Michigan, one cleaning company has quietly—and powerfully—transformed lives far beyond spotless kitchens and freshly vacuumed floors. For nearly a decade, Jeannie Cleaning, led by Jeannie Henderson, has built a legacy rooted not just in service, but in compassion, resilience, and community impact.
Since partnering with Cleaning for a Reason, an ISSA Charity, in 2017, Jeannie Cleaning has supported 191 cancer patients, delivering $80,272 worth of donated cleanings. Year after year, the company has ranked among the organization’s top 10 partners nationwide for cancer patients served—a reflection not of ambition, but of unwavering commitment.
But in 2025, something remarkable happened.
Raising the Bar in 2025
Marking its 10th anniversary, Jeannie Cleaning supported 52 cancer patients, becoming the Top 3rd Partner in the nationwide network of 1,400 cleaning companies. Henderson also raised over $10,000 to help Cleaning for a Reason reach more families navigating cancer.

Leading Beyond the Business
In 2024, Henderson joined the board of ISSA Charities, helping guide Cleaning for a Reason and programs like the ISSA Hygieia Network and ISSA Scholars—an extension of her commitment to shaping the future of service and philanthropy.
Her work is deeply personal: Henderson’s husband has battled cancer for over 18 years.
“Walking alongside my husband through his cancer journey has shaped how I see every patient we serve,” she said. “A clean home may seem simple, but for someone undergoing treatment, it provides comfort and one less burden during an overwhelming time.”
