Two Maids of Marriottsville Mopping Up Cancer

LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Marriottsville, MD – February 17, 2023 – Two Maids of Marriottsville has partnered with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit serving cancer patients through free house cleaning. Owners Mari Millard and Marnie Hammel are thrilled to partner their sixth franchise location to make a difference for cancer patients and their families.
“We partnered our first location in 2016 and have been partnering with Cleaning for a Reason ever since,” said Millard. “We believe that as a female-owned business, it is important to give back to women in our communities, and we are proud to work with this nonprofit. Personally, I lost my spouse to cancer when I was 28 years old and I know how difficult it is to be a caregiver, while trying to maintain the home.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Two Maids of Marriottsville assists cancer patients by cleaning two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Columbia and the surrounding areas.
Areas served include Annapolis Junction, Fulton, Laurel, Savage, Highland, Jessup, Brookeville, Clarksville, Dayton, Ellicott City, Columbia, Elkridge, Hanover, Marriottsville, Woodstock, Cooksville, Glenelg, Glenwood, Mount Airy, Sykesville, West Friendship, Woodbine, Simpsonville, and Lisbon.
| Five years ago, co-owner Marnie Hammel set up a fundraiser for Cleaning for a Reason with her first ever Ironman and raised $2,000. “We have worked directly with many Cleaning for a Reason clients,” said Hammel. “We know how much it means for these women to have a clean home when people come to visit. It is our sincere honor to work with and support this organization and we have donated over 300 cleanings so far with more to come.” |  |
