TidyUp!: Cleaning for a Cause
By Isabella Garriga
Midland, TX (KOSA) – March 16, 2024 – In the heart of Midland, a local cleaning service is not just tidying up homes; they’re uplifting spirits and making a difference in the community. TidyUp!, a venture by Maria Borjas-Bilard and Junior Bilard, has embarked on a new and heartwarming initiative aimed at helping individuals and families facing challenges, particularly those battling cancer.
Maria and Junior Bilard, originating from Venezuela and Brazil, found themselves in Midland, a place they now call home for the past five years. Their entrepreneurial journey was not just about business but about giving back to the community that welcomed them with open arms.
“We were so inspired by Midland and Odessa’s community. A lot of people are not from here, but the outpour of people giving to the community has truly inspired us,” said Maria Borjas-Bilard, co-owner of TidyUp!
TidyUp! recently joined forces with “Cleaning for a Reason,” a national organization providing free home cleaning for cancer patients and their families across the U.S. and Canada. This collaboration reflects TidyUp!’s broader vision of crafting spaces that bring joy, comfort, and productivity into people’s lives, especially during challenging times.
“We’d normally like to be the first ones here in our town bringing this kind of service for the community. To help people that are facing the hard battle against cancer to make their life easier and more comfortable to better the hard times,” said Junior Bilard.
Despite evolving over the years, TidyUp!’s core mission remains unwavering: to help people in meaningful ways. The initiative with “Cleaning for a Reason” has already started impacting lives, with TidyUp! providing free cleanings to two patients per month easing their burdens and spreading positivity.
TidyUp! has expanded its reach to Midland, Odessa, Greenwood, and now employs seven dedicated individuals. Their services include standard cleaning, deep cleaning, move-in/out services, office cleaning, and more, all aimed at making spaces cleaner and lives easier.
“We want to try to inspire other companies to do the same. Not just for people battling cancer but for other kinds of illnesses that they need help,” said Junior Bilard, co-owner of TidyUp!
TidyUp!’s journey doesn’t end here; it’s a call to action for other businesses and individuals to lend a helping hand wherever possible, supporting various causes and making a positive impact in their community.
