The Cleaning Authority of Stamford Brings Comfort to Cancer Patients

Stamford, CT – January 24, 2025 – The Cleaning Authority of Stamford is honored to announce its partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit dedicated to providing free home cleaning services to cancer patients across the U.S. and Canada. Through this collaboration, The Cleaning Authority of Stamford aims to bring comfort and relief to local cancer patients undergoing treatment, surgery, or hospice care by providing complimentary cleanings.
Douglas Burke, co-owner and CEO of The Cleaning Authority of Stamford, shared their personal inspiration behind this initiative. “Our daughter passed away from cancer, and I understand firsthand the overwhelming challenges of caring for a loved one undergoing treatment. There’s little time to focus on anything beyond their care. My wife and I have always valued giving back to our community—it’s deeply meaningful to us. Partnering with Cleaning for a Reason allows us to make a tangible difference for families navigating similar journeys.”
As part of this partnership, The Cleaning Authority of Stamford will provide free home cleaning services to two cancer patients each month for two consecutive months. These services will be offered to residents of lower Fairfield County, including Stamford, Darien, New Canaan, Norwalk, Westport, and Fairfield, helping to create clean, uplifting spaces for patients to focus on their health and well-being.
Since joining Cleaning for a Reason in 2009, The Cleaning Authority’s Corporate Franchise Partnership has made a remarkable impact, delivering over $595,704 worth of cleaning services to 1,557 cancer patients. This ongoing collaboration underscores the franchise’s commitment to supporting those in need by ensuring their homes remain clean and safe during such critical times.
