NATIONAL CLEANING FOR A REASON WEEK, APRIL 18-24
Deerfield Beach, FL – April 25, 2020 – Merry Maids of Deerfield Beach has been donating cleaning services to cancer patients for the past four years through its partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit serving cancer households through the gift of clean. Since 2016, Merry Maids of Deerfield Beach has helped a total of 28 cancer patients with donated cleanings valued at $16,352.
Jan White, co-owner of Merry Maids of Deerfield Beach, wants to bring heightened awareness of the cause to the area during Cleaning for a Reason Week, April 18-24. The goal is to help more households battling any type of cancer to receive the gift of a clean home.
“Having first-hand experience of a family member with cancer, I know what clients and their families are physically and emotionally experiencing,” said White. “It’s difficult to take care of everything as a caregiver as well. It is so important to have a clean home where cancer patients, who are immuno-compromised, can focus on recovery and family. Our team members are honored to provide this service to cancer patients in their time of need.”
White emphasized, “During this coronavirus pandemic, we are equipped and prepared to do our part responsibly as an essential business. We are taking extra steps to clean, sanitize, and disinfect. We are helping to make homes not only clean, but also healthy and safe for our clients, especially the cancer patients. All staff wear masks and gloves during cleanings, while also practicing social distancing.”
Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Merry Maids of Deerfield Beach works with cancer patients to clean two homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This will be an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Boca Raton, Deerfield Beach, and Fort Lauderdale.
