International Cleaning Week: ISSA, Priehl Cleaning, and Chicago Clean Home Team Up for Volunteer Day in Support of Cancer Patients

Rosemont, IL – March 19, 2025 – Cleaning for a Reason, an ISSA Charities™ signature program offering free home cleaning services to cancer patients, is excited to announce a Volunteer Day on Thursday, March 27, in Rosemont, IL, with services extending to the surrounding areas. In celebration of International Cleaning Week, which takes place from March 23-29, 2025, Cleaning for a Reason will spotlight its mission while providing essential support to cancer patients.

International Cleaning Week, a week-long event hosted by ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, introduces innovative resources to empower cleaning industry professionals globally. For five consecutive years, ISSA has hosted this celebration at the end of March. This Volunteer Day will see volunteers cleaning the homes of seven cancer patients, while raising funds to help expand the program’s reach. |
Volunteer Participation and Supporting Organizations
Over 20 dedicated volunteers from ISSA and its member firms will participate, including volunteers from:
- Independent Suppliers Group
- Buck Services
- Brenntag Specialties
- NewAge Logistics
- No Stress Cleaning Service
- The Tidy Queens
- Diversey, a Solenis company
- The Garlands of Barrington
- OCD Cleaners
- Spectrum Robotics LLC
Working alongside professional cleaning crew chiefs from Priehl Cleaning and Chicago Clean Home, volunteers will provide high-quality, complimentary cleaning services. Sponsors for the day include PortionPac, Allegra Marketing, and Potbelly Sandwich Works.
This effort aims to reduce stress, offer comfort, and enhance patients’ well-being, allowing them to focus on their recovery and time with loved ones. It reflects Cleaning for a Reason’s continued commitment to supporting cancer patients by providing a clean, healthy home environment.
Since partnering with this nonprofit in 2013, Priehl Cleaning has served 36 cancer patients, donating cleaning services valued at almost $10,000.
“We are deeply committed to supporting Cleaning for a Reason and making a meaningful impact in the lives of those affected by cancer,” said Florin Priehl, owner of Priehl Cleaning. “Providing a clean home offers much-needed relief and peace of mind, allowing cancer patients to focus on their healing and cherish moments with their loved ones. We are proud to continue contributing to the well-being of our community.”
Chicago Clean Home shares a dedication to serving those most in need of clean homes in the area and, since 2016, has supported 22 cancer households with $6,570 in donated cleanings.
“We are honored to assist cancer patients by providing a clean, healthy home environment,” said Ciprian Chris Fiastru, owner of Chicago Clean Home. “For many patients undergoing treatment, their immune systems are compromised, and a clean home is crucial to reduce the risk of infections. We take pride in offering this essential service, helping them maintain a healthier, safer space during their recovery.”
