Custom Cleanups Marks Ninth Year of Supporting Cancer Patients

Cancer Survivor, Entrepreneur, and Community Advocate Pays It Forward
Tampa, FL – October 20, 2025 – For the ninth consecutive year, Jacky Costello, founder and owner of Custom Cleanups, LLC, continues to turn her personal journey of survival into a mission of service. Through her ongoing partnership with the nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason, Costello and her team donate free professional house cleanings to cancer patients across the greater Tampa Bay area. Since 2016, Custom Cleanups has gifted more than 115 patients with cleanings valued at over $34,000, offering peace of mind and relief during some of life’s hardest moments.
“As a cancer survivor, I know what it means to be exhausted from treatments while trying to hold a family together,” said Costello. “The gift of a clean and healthy home is more than just dust-free floors—it’s dignity, it’s comfort, and it’s one less burden to carry. That’s why Custom Cleanups is committed to helping patients focus on what matters most: healing and family.”
Through their partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Custom Cleanups pledges to serve at least two local patients each month for two consecutive months, at no cost. This program currently serves residents in Lithia, Riverview, and Valrico, with a vision to expand even further.
A Legacy of Service and Resilience
Costello’s path has been anything but ordinary. Born and raised in Germany, she came to the United States to build her American dream—only to face a devastating cancer diagnosis. After surviving, she turned her experience into purpose. In 2014, she launched Custom Cleanups, a veteran- and family-owned residential cleaning business, alongside her husband Wes, a U.S. veteran.
Her story of resilience is captured in her memoir, How Far I Have Risen: Coming Clean from Cancer, God, and My American Dream, where she shares her journey of faith, grit, and gratitude. Beyond her cleaning company, Costello also mentors fellow entrepreneurs through her coaching brand, Inspire Like a Rockstar, where she inspires others to grow sustainable businesses and pursue their goals with confidence.
“To me, true success isn’t measured by numbers—it’s measured by impact,” said Costello. “Helping others—whether it’s a family fighting cancer, an employee pursuing growth, or a fellow entrepreneur chasing a dream—that’s where the joy is.”
