Clean Slate: Palm Valley Cleaning Company Offering Free Services to Cancer Patients

Jacksonville, FL – September 23, 2026 – A Palm Valley cleaning company is partnering with a national nonprofit to provide free house cleanings to local cancer patients.
Two Maids of Palm Valley will offer complimentary cleanings to patients referred by Cleaning for a Reason, which connects people undergoing cancer treatment with cleaning companies.
The local business will serve up to two patients each month. Each recipient are eligible for two cleanings, provided once a month for up to two months.
The service is available to cancer patients in Ponte Vedra, Ponte Vedra Beach, Nocatee, Palm Valley, St. Johns, Fruit Cove, northern St. Augustine and portions of South Jacksonville.
Patients are eligible regardless of their age, gender or type of cancer.
“A clean home can provide much more than convenience—it can give a family time, relief, and one less thing to worry about during a difficult season,” co-owner Joshua Henderson said.
Henderson, a veteran, owns the business with his wife, Stacy. They opened the Palm Valley franchise in April and said community service has been part of their plans for the company from the beginning.
“As a veteran, I understand the importance of having people in your corner during challenging times,” Joshua Henderson said. “We hope the cleanings we provide can offer families a little breathing room and remind them that their community is behind them.”
Cleaning for a Reason works with more than 1,400 residential cleaning companies in the United States and Canada.
Since its founding in 2006, the nonprofit and its partners have provided more than $23 million in donated services to over 65,000 cancer patients, according to the organization.
Two Maids franchises have participated in the program since 2011.
Collectively, they have provided cleaning services valued at more than $1 million to 3,058 cancer patients, the company said.
Cancer patients seeking complimentary cleanings may apply directly through Cleaning for a Reason at cleaningforareason.org.
Applicants are matched with a participating cleaning company based on availability and service area.
