Cancer Patients Renew Hope with SOS Cleaning Services

LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Ashland, MA – January 10, 2024 – SOS Cleaning Services, Inc. has joined forces with Cleaning for a Reason, a non-profit organization that offers free house cleaning services to cancer patients across the United States and Canada. For owner Maria Machado and her daughter, operations manager Suzi Ferreira, this is a personal endeavor born from their family’s experience with cancer, aiming to make a meaningful difference for local cancer patients and their families.
“Being a part of Cleaning for a Reason aligns with our core belief in the transformative power of a clean and healthy environment, especially for those battling cancer,” said owner Maria Machado. “From my own grandson’s battle with cancer, we understand the significance of a sanitized and nurturing space in fostering better health outcomes and providing a sense of relief during such trying times. We aim to alleviate the burden for cancer patients, allowing them to focus on their well-being while surrounded by a space that promotes healing and peace of mind.”
In partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, SOS Cleaning Services supports two cancer patients’ homes each month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to patients residing within a 20-mile radius of Ashland.
Reflected Suzi Ferreira, “Being personally involved in my mom’s cleaning business and having witnessed my middle son’s battle with aplastic anemia and his subsequent bone marrow transplant, I have gained a profound understanding of the crucial role that support plays during such challenging times. Given my firsthand experience and the compassion I have gained, I am deeply honored to contribute and be a part of this amazing cause. Each cleaning we provide is a testament to the generosity that resides within us, and I am truly grateful for the opportunity to make a difference.”
