Cleaning For A Reason Helps Cancer Patients
By Real Posh Mom
October is National Breast Cancer Awareness month! You can probably tell by all the pink you see around town, worn by football players and limited editions items at your favorite retailers. Cleaning for a Reason is helping make life a little easier for women battling the disease, one housecleaning at a time. The American Cancer Society estimates that 800,000 American women will be diagnosed with cancer in 2013. Cleaning for a Reason aims to help those cancer patients by taking on the chore of cleaning with the help of Swiffer and Walmart.
Swiffer and Walmart are partnering with Cleaning for a Reason to raise awareness with pink Swiffer Sweepers, WetJets and Dusters, featuring Walmart associates who are breast cancer survivors. Through Swiffer, Walmart and Cleaning for a Reason, millions of shoppers will be exposed to the non-profit’s mission and commitment to helping those affected by cancer.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month creates a natural opportunity for Cleaning for a Reason to raise awareness of their mission to ease the burden of household chores for women. Currently, there are more than 1,000 maid services in U.S. and Canada who volunteer their time and services to provide free professional cleanings. They “bring meaning to cleaning” by providing more than 13,000 free housecleanings to date, allowing women to focus their energy on fighting cancer.
