Montreal Team Up for Volunteer Day to Support Cancer Patients
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Montreal, Quebec – October 20, 2026 – A clean home can mean one less worry for someone facing cancer. On Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Cleaning for a Reason, an ISSA Charities™ signature program providing free home cleaning to cancer patients, will bring that support to four Montreal patients through a dedicated Volunteer Day.
Sixteen volunteers from ISSA Canada and member companies Bunzl Canada and Dustbane Products Ltd. will work alongside professional cleaning crew chiefs from Cleaning for a Reason partners Nettoyage Krystal Clean and Re-Fresh Montreal to provide complimentary home cleaning. Bunzl Canada and Dustbane Products Ltd. are also sponsoring the event, helping expand Cleaning for a Reason’s reach and bring support to more cancer patients.
By taking cleaning off patients’ to-do lists, volunteers offer practical relief and give families more time to focus on what matters most.
Two Decades of Making a Difference
Since 2006, Cleaning for a Reason has supported 2,225 cancer patients across Canada, providing more than $725,860 in donated cleaning services. More than 270 Canadian cleaning companies have contributed to the mission, with 50 currently serving patients nationwide year-round.
As the program celebrates 20 years of support, Volunteer Day highlights how sponsorships, industry partnerships, and hands-on volunteer efforts can extend the gift of a clean home to more families facing cancer.
Founded in 2016 by Tammy Williamson, Nettoyage Krystal Clean shares this commitment to community support.
“We’re grateful for the opportunity to participate in Volunteer Day and support Cleaning for a Reason and our industry’s commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families,” said Williamson. “It’s an honor to come together with others in our industry to give back and make a positive impact. A cancer patient’s energy needs to be on healing—not on cleaning.”
Cancer patients of any age, gender, or cancer type can apply for complimentary home cleaning at cleaningforareason.org.
