LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY CONTINUES MAKING A DIFFERENCE

Alexandria, VA. — October 28, 2026 — Maid Brigade of Alexandria is celebrating nearly 20 years of involvement with Cleaning for a Reason by continuing its commitment to providing compassionate gifted cleaning services to cancer patients and their families. To mark the nonprofit organization’s 20th anniversary, Maid Brigade of Alexandria is aiming to reach $30,000 in donated cleanings by the holidays.
To date, Maid Brigade of Alexandria has provided $27,650 in donated cleaning services to 81 cancer patients throughout the communities it serves. Reaching the $30,000 milestone would represent another meaningful step in the company’s long-standing commitment to providing comfort, relief, and practical support to families facing cancer.
“As a partner since 2007, Maid Brigade of Alexandria has been part of the Cleaning for a Reason mission for nearly 20 years,” said Peter Glavas, owner of Maid Brigade of Alexandria. “Through the nonprofit, we provide gifted residential cleanings to local cancer patients, giving them one less responsibility to worry about during a challenging time. We are proud to use the service we provide every day to offer comfort, relief, and more time for patients and their families to focus on what matters most. Reaching $30,000 in donated cleanings by the holidays will allow us to build on that impact and continue supporting patients and families when they need it most.”
Through its partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, Maid Brigade of Alexandria provides gifted home cleanings for cancer patients in communities throughout Northern Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Maryland, including the Alexandria, Greenbelt, and Fredericksburg areas. Each patient receives two gifted cleanings, with one cleaning provided per month for up to two months.
Maid Brigade of Alexandria uses cleaning solutions designed with the needs of its clients and their homes in mind. Its cleaning solutions are safe for homes with individuals who may have compromised immune systems, including many patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiation treatment. This added consideration is particularly important for families seeking a clean and comfortable home environment while navigating cancer treatment.
“As Cleaning for a Reason celebrates 20 years of impact, partnerships like this are essential to expanding our reach and connecting more cancer patients with the support they need,” shared Lucy Lee, Program Manager of Cleaning for a Reason. “Maid Brigade of Alexandria’s nearly 20 years of partnership is a testament to the difference local businesses can make when they commit to serving their communities. We are grateful for their continued dedication and the role they have played in advancing our mission.”
Any cancer patient, regardless of age, gender, or diagnosis, may apply to receive complimentary home cleanings by visiting cleaningforareason.org.
