Kent, WA – September 26, 2025 – Two Maids of Kent, a newly launched veteran-owned cleaning company, will celebrate its official Grand Opening this Thursday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m., with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the Kent Chamber of Commerce.

Owner Wesley Nicholson is a proud military Veteran, now transitioning to local entrepreneurship. As he researched the Two Maids franchise, a fellow franchise introduced one of his “rockstars,” Operations Manager Tamara Iris, and a great team was born. Nicholson credits Iris as being “the glue that keeps it all together.” Together they are sharing a commitment not only to serving customers but also to giving back to the community.

Two Maids of Kent recently announced a partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, a nonprofit that provides free home cleanings for cancer patients. Through the program, the Kent location will clean the homes of two cancer patients each month for two consecutive months at no charge in Kent and surrounding South King County cities.

“As a veteran-owned business, our mission has always been about service,” Nicholson said. “Now, beyond cleaning homes, we are honored to serve our community’s most vulnerable members.”

Iris said helping families through cleaning has already been one of the highlights of her career.

“It’s humbling to know that something as simple as a clean home can offer hope, dignity, and comfort during such a difficult time,” she said.

When asked how they chose Cleaning for a Reason, Nicholson shared “Cancer is a disease that has touched the lives of so many around us. While I may not have a personal connection that initially motivated me, witnessing loved ones fight bravely and face everyday challenges has deeply impacted me. Their courage and resilience have inspired me to support this cause, knowing that every effort brings us closer to better treatments, greater awareness, and eventually, a cure. Supporting cancer initiatives is my way of honoring those who have battled it and giving hope to others still fighting.”

Two Maids officially opened in May 2025 and is part of a national franchise with more than 100 locations across the United States. The company provides residential and commercial cleaning with a pay-for-performance model and uses eco-friendly and hospital-grade disinfectants.
