Flower Mound, TX – October 19, 2021 – 9Round of Flower Mound will host its annual all day kick event benefitting nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason on Monday, October 25. For each kick thrown, the club will donate a penny to the Lewisville-based nonprofit serving cancer patients through free house cleaning.
“We are thrilled to host the 9th annual Kick Event at 9Round of Flower Mound,” said Owner Brian Taylor. “With COVID-19 last year, we couldn’t hold the fundraiser, but we’re thrilled to once again support Cleaning for a Reason in their efforts to help cancer patients through the gift of a clean home. We annually tally about 130,000 kicks, which results in a $1,300 donation! In a time like no other, I am hoping we can exceed that goal at this year’s event. Anyone and everyone can participate. You kick, we donate! Please come out and help us ‘kick’ cancer to the curb!”
This free event is open to the public starting at 7 a.m. til 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. til closing at 8 p.m.. Each participant will be entered into a drawing for door prizes. Membership and purchase is not necessary. For non-members, 9Round will also give a penny for each kick off of enrollment fees. Nationwide, 9Round clubs across the country have a goal of 25 million kicks, which works out to $250,000 benefiting local charitable organizations.
Local resident, Stacey Schwinghammer, an ovarian cancer patient since 2010, is grateful for the support of Cleaning for a Reason and 9Round of Flower Mound, TX. She’s spreading awareness of these two organizations that are making a difference for any household battling cancer.
“During cancer treatment, the fatigue can be overwhelming,” said Schwinghammer. “As a wife and mother, Cleaning for a Reason allowed me to focus on my health and my family, while they focused on my home. And as I got better, I started attending classes at 9Round. At first, I could not even throw a punch. Now you’ll find me there six days a week. It is a test of stamina and will, which keeps me strong in my ongoing battle with cancer. Cleaning for a Reason and 9Round have provided me with real, practical support when I needed it the most.”

Cleaning for a Reason wants to get the word out to both cancer patients who need help and cleaning companies and suppliers that want to join or support the cause of clean homes for cancer patients.
“During the coronavirus pandemic, we all learned that a clean home is a safe, healthy home,” said Founder Debbie Sardone. “This is especially true for cancer patients as they are often immune compromised and too physically and emotionally drained from treatments and surgeries to worry about dusting the blinds or scrubbing the toilet. While we focus on the home, cancer patients can focus on their health and family.”
“Our goal is to become a household name for every cancer patient in need, along with every residential and commercial cleaning company and supplier in the country. If you’re a cancer patient, don’t hesitate to apply. If you work with cancer patients or just know of someone with cancer, refer our nonprofit. If you want to make a difference, volunteer. And if you sell a mop, if you distribute vacuums, if you manufacture a glass cleaner, you should be affiliated with Cleaning for a Reason.”
