10 Years of Wiping Out Cancer by Maidpro Bryan/College Station

LOCAL COMPANY MAKING A DIFFERENCE DURING COVID-19
Bryan, TX – October 16, 2020 – Local franchise, MaidPro Bryan/College Station, has been donating cleaning services to local cancer patients for almost 10 years through their partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason. Owners Gene and Jen Curtiss understand the importance of support and a clean environment when undergoing illness and are committed to making a difference for cancer patients and their families.
“I first heard of Cleaning for a Reason when my aunt was undergoing cancer treatments many years ago,” said Jen Curtiss. “She had a Cleaning for a Reason partner caring for her and her home in her last days and it was an amazing support to her and her family. When we opened our own business, we knew this was something we had to do. It’s been our pleasure to care for so many cancer patients as they are going through such a difficult time in their lives. It’s a blessing to us that we do work every day that helps and makes a difference for our neighbors.”
Since May of 2011, MaidPro Bryan/College Station has supported 38 cancer patients with a total donated value of $18,424 in cleanings. Through partnership with Cleaning for a Reason, this franchise location works with cancer patients to clean three homes per month for two consecutive months free of charge. This is an ongoing service to cancer patients residing in Bryan and College Station.
Said Gene Curtiss, “Now more than ever, we all understand that a clean home is a healthy home. During this COVID-19 pandemic, we are taking the necessary precautions to lower the risk of infection and to keep our staff and our clients safe and healthy, especially the cancer patients we serve. Following CDC guidelines, we are using an EPA-approved disinfectant, wearing masks and gloves, and social distancing when in a home.”
