FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
LOCAL COMPANY COMMITTED TO STRENGTHENING COMMUNITY
Oshawa, Ontario – October 25, 2022 – For the past year, owner Karen Conchie and her staff at The Cleaning Ladies have been passionate about supporting local cancer patients with the gift of a clean home. In partnership with nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason, this committed group of women understand that giving back not only supports families in need, but also makes a big impact on local communities.
“The Cleaning Ladies is committed to giving back to our community in meaningful ways to make a difference in the lives of those who may need it most,” said Conchie. “Cancer has touched every one of us at our company in one way or another and we can empathise deeply with the patients and the families. We find it incredibly rewarding that the patients and the families we serve can enjoy a clean, safe, healthy home during one of the most trying times in their lives. It is our goal to strengthen our community with involvement in community initiatives like this one.”
Since the beginning of the year, The Cleaning Ladies has supported seven cancer patients with a total donated value of $1,950 in cleanings. The company supports cancer patients by offering them two three-hour cleanings in a two-month period. The Cleaning Ladies is proud to support those undergoing cancer treatment in the Durham Region and Bowmanville.
Cleaning for a Reason is successful every year because of the people and companies that support it. There are four ways to participate with this important cause:
• Nominate: If any cancer patient you know—man, woman, or child—is currently receiving treatment, recovering from surgery, or in hospice care, and resides in the United States or Canada, please have the patient apply (or you on their behalf) for free house cleaning at cleaningforareason.org/patients
• Partner: More cleaning partners are needed. These companies selflessly donate their time and services to support cancer patients and their families. Learn more and join the cause at cleaningforareason.org/cleaning-companies
• Sponsor: Every cleaning makes lives better for families during this difficult time. Learn about company sponsorship opportunities at cleaningforareason.org/corporate-partner-application
• Donate: You can help Cleaning for a Reason serve more cancer patients by donating today at cleaningforareason.org/donate
