The Cleaning Ladies, a Top Choice for Cancer Patients

LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY COMMITTED TO MAKING A DIFFERENCE
| Oshawa, Ontario – June 23, 2023 – For the past 16 months, Karen Conchie and her team at The Cleaning Ladies have been dedicated to providing clean homes to cancer patients. Through their partnership with nonprofit organization Cleaning for a Reason, they were honored as a Top 100 Cleaning Partner in 2022. To date, they have supported 23 cancer patients with a generous donation of $5,250 worth of cleaning services. |  |
Karen Peacock, a cancer patient, expressed her gratitude, saying, “Cleaning for a Reason and the free cleanings from The Cleaning Ladies have helped me greatly as I am unable to do the cleaning myself right now. With a busy family and four children, I am so thankful for the help to maintain the house the way I used to be able to do.”
The Cleaning Ladies offer two three-hour cleanings within a two-month period to cancer patients, ensuring a clean and comforting environment during treatment. They proudly serve the Durham Region and Bowmanville and have raised over $2,500 to support more cancer patients. Conchie shared her personal connection to cancer, saying, “The loss of my mother, Mary, to cancer left a real void in both mine and my father’s lives. Looking back, I realize the invaluable support that Cleaning for a Reason could have provided to my family during that challenging time. This nonprofit’s vision of offering free home cleaning services to cancer patients not only relieves the burden of maintaining a clean home but also allows patients to focus on their health and healing.”

About The Cleaning Ladies
Fully bonded and insured, The Cleaning Ladies provides residential, business, and commercial office cleans. The company takes pride in being an all-female leadership team, where all managers have started with the company as cleaning techs. All cleaning techs have weeks of vigorous training, are background-checked, and carry liability and WSIB (Workplace Safety and Insurance Board) insurance.
In 2014, owner Karen Conchie started the business in a garage and with one employee. To date, the company has 20 employees and services 225 recurring residential clients and 11 commercial business clients.
