On September 21, 2019, 20 volunteers from the Dallas Stars community led by professional cleaning crew chiefs affiliated with Cleaning for a Reason participated in an amazing service project to clean the homes of five cancer patients. The day was captured on video as a precursor to the Dallas Stars' annual Hockey Fights Cancer night on Saturday,  October 26, where Cleaning for a Reason was the featured charity. During the 50/50 game time raffle totaling $16,260, 50 percent of proceeds then went to Cleaning for a Reason and the remaining 50 percent went to one lucky raffle ticket owner. The cancer patients we cleaned for were also invited to join Becky Nil—wife of Dallas Stars GM Jim Nil who has been battling breast cancer for 19 years. This was a special evening of support to an amazing charity and the cancer patients who opened their homes to us.
