Jeannie Cleaning Dedicated to Supporting Cancer Patients Alongside Cleaning for a Reason
Kalamazoo, MI – October 11, 2025 – Cleaning for a Reason is a nonprofit program that partners with cleaning companies to provide free house cleaning services for individuals undergoing cancer treatment. A clean, healthy home can help ease the burden of illness—reducing stress and restoring a sense of dignity and comfort.
“Cleaning your house is the last thing you want to do when you are going through treatment,” started Jeannie Henderson, owner of Jeannie Cleaning. “We are committed to helping our local community by offering help with house cleaning services.”
In this FOX 17 West Michigan News feature, owner Jeannie Henderson of Jeannie Cleaning shares how they’ve expanded their partnership with Cleaning for a Reason to serve even more patients—now reaching Grand Rapids in addition to the Kalamazoo area. Each patient receives up to two free cleanings, with the option for continued discounted services for up to six months.

The nonprofit is continually seeking additional cleaning businesses throughout the United States and Canada to help meet the growing demand for services among cancer patients. In Michigan alone, 47 cleaning companies currently volunteer their time and resources, while more than 50,000 residents are diagnosed with cancer each year.
