ISSA Canada, Bunzl, Dustbane, Maid Stellar YEG, and Home Spritz, Inc. Team Up for Volunteer Day in Support of Cancer Patients

Edmonton, AB – June 19, 2025 – Cleaning for a Reason, an ISSA Charities™ signature program providing free home cleaning for cancer patients, is hosting a Volunteer Day on Tuesday, June 23 in Edmonton. This event highlights the program’s mission while offering essential support to cancer patients.
Since 2006, Cleaning for a Reason has provided free home cleaning to 1,943 cancer patients in Canada, totaling over $695,475 in donated services. More than 270 Canadian cleaning companies have participated in this mission, and today, 51 companies are actively serving patients throughout the country year-round. The goal is to continue expanding this reach, bringing the gift of a clean home to even more cancer patients across Canada.
Volunteer Participation and Supporting Organizations
On this special day, 12 volunteers from ISSA Canada and its member firms will participate, including volunteers from Bunzl Canada, Dustbane Products Ltd., and Maid Stellar YEG.
Working alongside professional cleaning crew chiefs from Home Spritz, Inc., volunteers will provide high-quality, complimentary home cleaning for five cancer patients. But this effort goes beyond cleaning—it’s about bringing relief, comfort, and dignity to those in the midst of their health battles, allowing them to focus on what truly matters.
Since partnering with Cleaning for a Reason in 2023, Home Spritz, Inc. has served 24 cancer patients, donating cleanings valued at $9,078.
“We are honored to support Cleaning for a Reason and contribute to a cause that has such a meaningful impact on the lives of cancer patients and their families,” said Yeonsil Kang, CEO and Co-founder of Home Spritz, Inc. Kang holds a Master of Social Work degree and previously worked as a registered social worker and teacher. She leads Home Spritz with a people-first approach, emphasizing empathy, compassion, and support for both clients and cleaning professionals.
Kang continued, “A clean and comfortable home can ease daily burdens during a difficult time, allowing patients to focus on their health and well-being. We are proud to partner with an organization that brings practical support, comfort, and care to those who need it most.”
