Facility Plus: Twelve Years Supporting Cancer Patients and a Volunteer Day That Went Above and Beyond

LOCAL CLEANING COMPANY CONTINUES MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Mississauga, Ontario – November 18, 2025 – For 12 years, Facility Plus has been a reliable and compassionate force in the lives of Canadian cancer patients. Since partnering with the nonprofit Cleaning for a Reason in 2013, Facility Plus has served 125 cancer households, donating $31,175 in home cleanings.

By donating services throughout the year, we hope to provide comfort, ease, and dignity to those who need it most. That’s why Cleaning for a Reason was a perfect fit for Facility Plus. We all know that the battle against cancer can be extremely difficult, and maintaining one’s home is likely the last thing on a family’s mind. By providing free cleaning services to cancer households, we hope to alleviate some of the stress that these families may be facing. Facility Plus takes pride in serving the communities in which we operate and that includes regularly participating in initiatives and charitable events.”
Through this partnership, Facility Plus donates cleaning services to two cancer patients’ homes each month for two consecutive months, at no cost, across Mississauga and the surrounding areas.
Cancer patients—of any age, gender, or type of cancer—may apply for free cleanings at cleaningforareason.org, giving them the relief of a clean, healthy home when it is needed most.
A Special Moment of Service: Volunteer Day on March 27
In addition to their year-round support, Facility Plus went above and beyond this year by commemorating ISSA International Cleaning Week with a Volunteer Day of Cleaning on March 27, 2025.

Twelve volunteers from ISSA Canada and industry member firms—including BGIS, Bunzl Canada, Dustbane Products Ltd., JEM Cleaning, Stewandy Cleaners, and United Cleaning Services—joined forces with professional crew chiefs from Facility Plus and The Cleaning Authority of Etobicoke–Mississauga. Together, they cleaned the homes of four cancer patients in in a single morning in Mississauga, delivering high-quality cleaning services with care and compassion. |
“Volunteer Days give us the chance to bring even more support to the community of cancer patients we serve year-round,” Levy said. “It’s a powerful reminder of the impact we can make when industry partners come together.”
A Partnership Built on Service and Heart
Cleaning for a Reason, an ISSA Charities™ signature program, partners with professional cleaning companies across the United States and Canada to provide free home cleanings for cancer patients. In Canada alone, more than 270 companies have supported the mission, with 50 currently active year-round.
