“I was an independent cleaner from the age of 16 into my mid-20s and I did that because I really enjoyed cleaning,” she said. “I had so many clients, I ran out of time and couldn’t take on more. So I created a business. I moved into an office four months ago north of Greenville, but after three months, we had already overgrown that space. Luckily, we were able to move to a new location with two rooms, a larger open space, a kitchen and a bathroom. We love it here. We love being next to Winter Inn and the main drag in town.”

As her business originally began with multiple different business partners, Perez said she eventually branched off to create her own business in Cleaning Solutions while those previous partners also pursued their own successful endeavours.
“It went went from cleaning during the day/working the business at night to achieving leadership and creating boundaries, to now having a healthier company,” she said.
“What I’m about is time freedom, not just for myself, but for my staff,” she continued. “We have your typical 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. shift, but no one really works that. They might have to come in late because they were dropping their kids off at the bus stop. They might have to leave early to join their kids on a field trip. So we provide a very flexible, but consistent job for all ages. 18 all the way up to 60.”
Sharing an entrance from the parking lot of Winter Inn, Chamber Executive Director Paul Sischo said he was thrilled to see another business call downtown Greenville its home.

“It’s great because we’re always trying to figure out, how do you fill spaces like that? So to have somebody seek that out, and for it to be a perfect fit for them, that’s amazing for our downtown,” he said. “Erika is a go-getter and they are just excited to be a part of the Greenville community. They are involved in multiple events and really want to invest in this community. The location might be a little challenging for passersby, but I think once people know that they are there, it will be a great spot for them.”
Perez said her company’s vision is to be the foremost provider of professional and caring cleaning services, striving to be the trusted choice for individuals and businesses alike by offering comprehensive solutions that create cleaner, healthier, and more inviting spaces.
“Through our unwavering commitment to teamwork, innovation, and integrity, we aim to surpass client expectations and set new standards in the industry,” she said. “With Cleaning Solutions, experience the vision of a brighter, cleaner future.”
Perez said she has faced a number of challenges in growing her business, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic, when her clientele dropped to about 29 clients.
However, she has since seen her business come back with a vengeance, now servicing more than 100 clients — many of them repeat customers.
Cleaning Solutions also partners with Cleaning for a Reason to provide free cleanings for patients going through cancer treatments.
“I chose to partner with Cleaning for a Reason because I’ve had a lot of cancer hit my family and a lot of my close friends,” Perez said.
