Home Helpers Donates House Cleanings to Women Battling Cancer

Deridder, Louisiana – January 17, 2014 – Home Helpers, a local residential cleaning company, has teamed up with Cleaning For A Reason, an international nonprofit foundation. The company is dedicated to helping make family life easier and is owned by two army wives and mothers who combine lots of hard work, determination and creative problem solving. These owners “help you turn your house into a home” through services that include home cleanings, home organization, de-cluttering, packing, or unpacking.
Owner Jeannette Mulligan states, “My mother lost her battle to cancer this past March 2014. My grandmother battled cancer twice in her life. I had my own brush with the fear of cancer when a tumor was found in my hip socket in 2012. I spent a lot of time at M.D. Anderson Cancer Clinic for a year including an intensive surgery. Contrary to what I expected, the people that I encountered at M.D. Anderson taught me quite a bit about what it means to face tragedy with a smile, laughter, hope, and fortitude. I am incredibly fortunate that my tumor was benign. Some women are walking a different path. If I can use my skills to lighten their load, then I am the one who gets the blessing. I am honored to be a part of this foundation.”
The company has agreed to help women battling cancer by cleaning two homes per month for four consecutive months at no charge. The only requirement is that the homes be within the company’s existing service area. For more information about this company, go to www.facebook.com/yourhomehelpers.
